Library Rules and Guidelines
- Faculty: 5 books can be issued at a time. All issued books must be returned on the due date and before the start of examinations.
- Students: 2 books can be issued for 14 days.
- Books can be renewed or re-issued only on a different day. If a book is already issued to a user, another copy of the same book will not be issued.
- Users must ensure their books are properly returned at the circulation counter.
- Users must inspect the condition of books before leaving the counter. Any unreported damage will be the user’s responsibility.
- Reference books, journals, and magazines will not be issued but may be consulted within the library.
- Users are strictly prohibited from marking, underlining, or writing inside books. Damaged or marked books must be replaced with a new copy or the user will be charged double the cost.
- Only the latest edition of a lost or damaged book will be accepted as a replacement; otherwise, double the cost will be charged.
- Stealing or tearing library materials will lead to fines and suspension of library privileges.
Code of Conduct
The Central Library aims to provide a harmonious environment that fosters knowledge exchange and academic growth. All users must observe the following code of conduct:
I. For Users:
- Silence must be strictly observed at all times.
- Mobile phones must be switched off or kept on silent mode before entering the library.
- Personal items such as bags, books, and electronic devices are not allowed inside the library.
- Food and beverages are not permitted except for water.
- Users must not re-shelve books; they should place them on the designated table after use.
- Marking, writing, or damaging library material is strictly prohibited. Users must replace damaged items or pay the cost of the material.
- Seats cannot be reserved. Staff may remove unattended belongings.
- Disruptive or disrespectful behavior toward library staff will result in disciplinary action.
- The library cannot be used to make notes from others’ copies or mobile phones.
II. For Library Staff:
- Staff must maintain professional attire and behavior while on duty, with mobile phones on silent mode inside the library.
- Staff must assist students, faculty, and visitors respectfully in locating resources and using the library management system.
- Staff must ensure that all library materials and resources are well-organized at all times.
